Easy-to-Read Guide 

This page explains how Geranium looks after your privacy, in simple language. 

If anything here seems confusing, you can ask your parent or legal guardian to help you. 

 

1. Why Geranium Looks at Your Screen 

Geranium is here to make you safer online. 

It uses special computer programs (artificial intelligence, otherwise known as AI) on your device to look at what is on your screen, including your camera. This helps it spot pictures or videos that might not be suitable for you to see as they might harm you. 

This checking happens only on your device. 

 

2. Do Your Pictures and Videos Get Sent Away? 

Most of the time: No. 

Your photos, videos, and screenshots stay on your device and are not sent to SafeToNet. 

The only time something might be sent is when: 

  • You ask your parent or legal guardian to look at something that was blocked, and
  • Your parent or legal guardian chooses to send it to SafeToNet to help improve how the app and its safety systems work. 

This only happens if your parent or legal guardian agrees and presses a button to send it. 

 

3. What Happens When Something Is Blocked 

If Geranium thinks something might be unsafe: 

  • The app may close,
  • The picture or video may be hidden in a special safe place,
  • You may see a message explaining what happened. 

You can ask your parent or legal guardian to review it if you think it was a mistake. 

 

4. How Your Parent Helps 

Your parent or legal guardian is in charge of the settings. 

They can: 

  • Review blocked pictures or videos.
  • Decide if something was safe or not.
  • Choose whether to delete it or keep it.
  • Choose whether to send it to SafeToNet to help improve how the app and its safety systems work. 

You cannot send anything yourself without your parent or legal guardian’s permission. 

 

5. Information About Your Device 

Geranium collects some basic technical information, such as: 

  • What type of phone or tablet you use.
  • Which version of the app you have.
  • If the app crashes or has problems. 

This helps us fix bugs and make the app better. 

It does not tell us who you are in real life. 

 

6. We Do Not Show You Adverts 

Geranium does not use advertising software that tracks what you do on your device. 

We do not show you personalised adverts. 

 

7. Keeping Your Information Safe 

We work hard to keep information secure. 

  • Most checking happens on your device.
  • Important account data is stored safely.
  • Only authorised people can see information when needed. 

 

8. Your Choices and Your Rights 

You and your parent or legal guardian have rights about your information. 

They can: 

  • Ask what information we have,
  • Ask us to delete it,
  • Ask questions about privacy. 

They can contact us if they want to. 

 

9. If You Are Worried About Something 

If you are worried about your privacy: 

  • Talk to your parent or legal guardian.
  • Ask them to contact SafeToNet. 

We want you to feel safe when using your device.
