Our first blog. A hello, an introduction, and a promise.
Every company should be able to answer one simple question: why do you exist?
We exist to safeguard children online. Online safety, which every child deserves, hasn’t kept up with the technology industry’s rapid evolution.
Somewhere right now, a child is being sent something no child should ever see. Another is being coaxed into sharing an image they'll spend years wishing they could take back. These aren't rare, distant tragedies. They're happening at a scale that's hard to comprehend, on the same devices our kids use to do their homework, talk to their friends, and grow up.
We believe and truly care about creating and innovating technology that safeguards every child in the digital world – not app by app, but total device protection.
In our 14-year journey which took many phases of research and development, we have created HarmBlock, an on-device AI that blocks harmful nude-based content in real-time.
Why is real-time so important? Because it protects the moment it matters like a digital seatbelt for the internet, whilst fully preserving the child’s privacy and not collecting any personal information.
The problem
For years, the world's answer to online harm has been reactive. Content gets reported after it's been seen. Images get taken down after they've been shared. Moderation happens in the cloud, after the damage is done. And some parental controls, for all their good intentions, are easy to switch off and easier to work around.
The harm, though, happens in a moment. The moment an image appears on a screen. The moment a camera is used to create something that can never be un-created. If protection doesn't work in that exact moment, it doesn't really work at all.
Old child safeguarding tools, filters and monitors have gaps, that harm can break through. On the old models, protection can be limited to certain apps, the cameras on the smart device remain unprotected, and the door to the internet has been left wide open for strangers to drop by which can lead to nude-based harm, sextortion, grooming, and worse.
We spent a long time sitting with that uncomfortable truth. Then we set out to solve it whilst still respecting a child’s right to privacy by creating an extra layer of protection that creates a tighter safety net around a child’s device.
Our invention: HarmBlock
HarmBlock is what we believe to be a genuine breakthrough. An on-device AI that detects and blocks harmful sexual content in real time, at the very point it renders to screen or is captured by the camera. Before it's saved. Before it's shared.
We say that with real pride, because it took years of research, engineering, and stubborn belief to get here. But it matters how it works, not just that it works:
It lives on the device itself.
Nothing is sent to the cloud to be analysed. No images are collected, stored, or seen by anyone. A child's privacy is protected just as fiercely as their safety because we don't think a child should have to trade one for the other.
It works in the moment.
Not minutes later, not after a report. HarmBlock intervenes in real time, blocking harmful content before a child is exposed to it and preventing the camera from being used to create it.
It is bypass resistant.
Because it's built into the device rather than bolted on top, it works everywhere across apps, browsers, and messages quietly and consistently in the background. It’s not surface level protection, its embedded digital infrastructure that makes devices safer by design.
It's invisible when it isn't needed.
HarmBlock doesn't read messages, look at your content or judge. It simply stands between a child and the worst of the internet. It collects no personal information, doesn’t send it to any third party or platform, it’s totally private and privacy centric.
From an idea to children's hands
We're humbled that this technology is no longer just an idea in a lab. HarmBlock is now being embedded directly into devices, working with partners who share our conviction that safety should be built in from the very first switch-on not left as a setting for busy parents to discover. Seeing our work recognised by the industry has been wonderful; seeing it protect real children on real phones has been something else entirely.
And we're honest with ourselves: we haven't solved online harm. No single company will. But we've proven something important that the moment of harm can be intercepted, on the device, without sacrificing privacy. That changes what the world is allowed to expect from technology.
What we believe
We believe safety should be the default, not the download. We believe privacy and protection belong together. We believe parents shouldn't need a computer science degree to keep their children safe. And we believe the companies that build children's digital world share responsibility for what happens inside it.
Most of all, we believe this is solvable. Not easily, and not alone but solvable.
A promise, and an invitation
